Frequently asked questions
- Does QuarterJar link to my bank account?
- No. You log money in and out yourself, scan receipts, or import a statement file you download from your bank or a platform. QuarterJar never connects to any bank or financial account.
- Is the amount to set aside official tax advice?
- No. QuarterJar's numbers are estimates based on IRS rules, including the safe harbor rules, and the figures you enter. Always confirm with a tax professional before filing.
- I'm updating from QuarterJar 1.0. Is my data still there?
- Yes. Your income, deposits, payments, tax profile, and reminders move into QuarterJar 2.0 automatically the first time you open it.
- How do I back up my data or move it to a new iPhone?
- In QuarterJar, go to Settings → Your data and make a backup, then save it to Files or iCloud Drive. On the new iPhone, install QuarterJar and restore that backup from the same place.
- What happens to my data if I delete the app?
- Everything is stored on your iPhone, so deleting QuarterJar deletes your data with it. Make a backup first if you want to keep it.
- Why is QuarterJar asking me to update?
- When a new version is required, for example to bring in a new year's tax numbers, QuarterJar asks you to update so your estimates stay right. You can still back up your data from that screen.
- How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
- Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Which states does QuarterJar cover?
- QuarterJar's calculations cover federal estimated tax only. State estimated-tax rules vary and are not included.
